GRENSON LEWIS V SUEDE BROGUE OXFORD BOOT

I’m seriously loving these bright and very summery lightweight boots from British Brogue brand, Grenson. This new take on the classic brogue boot features an unlined upper made of a soft calf suede exterior that’s just right for summer. The lightweight sole is said to be comfortable to walk in and if you like shoes and kicks like I do, you’ll end up rocking them all year round anyways! Here’s some history for you: Brogues were traditionally considered to be outdoor or country footwear and not appropriate for casual or business dress. The Grenson Lewis V does come in an array of tasty colorways and is available at various stores and online boutiques…all in all, you can’t beat the fresh color of mustard to add some kick to your step.

SONG OF THE DAY: ELLIE GOULDING – HIGH FOR THIS

With her heavily anticipated sophomore album currently in the works, UK sensation Ellie Goulding has just released a new track “High For This” which is a cover of Canadian R&B up-and-comer The Weeknd off his highly acclaimed mixtape ‘House Of Balloons.’ The song was produced by Xaphoon Jones and sets an ultra chlll, kick back mood that highlights her soft, fragile voice over a digitally cool, slow jam beat. Check it!

ROGELIO MANZA

CELEDONIO

MAKENA

RENZO

ATANASIO

SUNMI

EUTILIA

Northern Californian based artist Rogelio Manzo creates intriguing yet ghost-like art based on people and faces with presence throughout all of his disfigured images. Sort of like a  futuristic version of a modern day Dorian Gray, Manzo was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and states his influence as being all types of art and media and has studied architecture at the Instituto Tecnologico de Colima.  Manza’s works method of using colored ink, chalk and graphite sketches on canvas or resin panel allows him great freedom to work on five or more paintings at a time. Here are a few of my favorites…to view more of his work, check out his site!

SONG OF THE DAY: LEMONADE – NEPTUNE

Lemonade’s second album, ‘Diver,’ is sensual, bold and swimmingly moody in it’s balearic, smooth house style. The San Francisco formed, Brooklyn based trio made up of vocalist Callan Clendenin, bassist Ben Steidel, and drummer Alex Pasternak spent quite a bit of time perfecting this record and it shows. The Song of the Day I’ve featured is “Neptune,” one of my many favorite tracks from this album out in the US on May 29th. Enjoy the floating melodies and easy synth-pop sounds of Lemonade – perfect for those warm summer days to come! Check listings as they are currently on tour, can’t wait!

COOL VIDEO: TOTALLY ENORMOUS EXTINCT DINOSAURS – AMERICAN DREAM PART II

Check out this fun visual video from Orlando Higginbottom aka Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. Lots of hype about his debut full length release entitled ‘Trouble’ on Polydor Records set for June 11th. The video for “American Dream Part II”s a collaboration between ADAM and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED) who has remixed an array of pop tracks for Lady Gaga and Katy Perry to name a few. Take a look and listen…watching this makes me want to be at this party!

SONG OF THE DAY: NIKI & THE DOVE – SOMEBODY

There are just too many standout tracks for today’s SONG OF THE DAY pick from Swedish two-piece Niki & The Dove. The duo consisting of Malin Dahlstrom and Gustaf Karlof are a little bit Stevie Nicks with a dash of Kate Bush and a taste of fellow Swedes, The Knife. I’ve featured the track ‘Somebody’ which is a super pop anthem with Prince like production that reminds me of  a cross between ‘Little Red Corvette’ and Nicks’ ‘Stand Back.’ Already out in the UK, their first studio LP Instinct” will include their singles ‘The Drummer,’ ‘The Fox’ and ‘DJ, Ease My Mind’ and will hit the U.S. in June. Be sure to check out their awesome, very 80′s inspired videos for for these singles too. Niki & The Dove is clearly my favorite album of 2012! You can check out tracks via soundcloud or on itunes.

WILLIAM MILLER

With his used $20 Polaroid SX-70, photographer and now abstract artist William Miller has created these amazing images of art entitled “Ruined Polorids.” Beautifully distorted, Miller’s snapshots take on a curious shape to each digital form filled with bold colors and an acidic, almost chemical treatment to each one. The artist states “Over time I’ve figured out how to control and accentuate aspects of the camera,’s flaws but the images themselves are always a surprise. Each one is determined by the idiosyncrasies of the film and the camera.” His photography is also pretty impressive too!

MOSHI MOSHI BLUETOOTH HANDSET FROM NATIVE UNION

Check out this cool gadget…London’s Native Union has created a sensible device that allows you to take calls on a handset while your iPhone is docked and charging. In recent years, there’s been quite a few studies linking cell phone radiation to various forms of cancer including tumors of the ear, brain and an arrray of other health risks; this smart alternative seems to fit right in with the times.  The Moshi Moshi MM031 was created by French designer David Turpin and gives you 6 whole hours of non-stop talk time with 120 hours of standby, volume, call answer and end buttons that will answer a call if you pick it up from the dock. The handset comes in sleek black or white colorways and works for all incoming cellphone and skype calls - Brilliant right?

SONG OF THE DAY: SAINT LOU LOU – MAYBE YOU

Feast your eyes and ears on the gorgeousness that is Saint Lou Lou. Just released this week, this new mysterious duo made up of twin sisters born and raised in Sweden and Australia has virtually no information on the Katie Holmes look-alikes that go by the name Saint Lou Lou. Their debut single “Maybe You” is a chill, dreamwave track that floats along and for sure will be pulled in. I have to admit, this quite easily is one of the best tracks I’ve heard this year so far!  Can’t wait to discover more from these girls…Beautiful!
